WSOPE will be held from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1, 2009, in the heart of Leicester Square at the Empire’s Casino in London, England. The Casino at the Empire has been a hotbed of poker activities since it hosted WSOPE, operating around the clock with regular cash games and tournaments. The casino has now begun offering 24-hour, satellite tournaments for WSOPE.

“The empire’s casinos have quickly become a poker game destination in the U.K.,” said Michael Silverring, chief operating officer of Club International London. “We look forward to hosting the best players at WSOPE this fall and will continue to deliver the best poker action every day for our players at Leicester Square.”

Players can pre-register for WSOPE either at London Clubs International (LCI) venues in the United Kingdom or at the Rio All-Suits Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Alternatively, they can only qualify online at Betfair Poker through www.betfairpoker.com .

“We are excited to be working with Hara again for a successful third year of our World Series of Poker Europe sponsorship,” said Betfair CEO David Yu. “We will remain the only place to qualify online for the WSOPE tournament and are excited about a new $1 million promotion that will add more value than ever to WSOPE with free entry.”
