Members of the Macau legislature approved a government-backed bill to revise the city’s gaming law late last month. The amendment states that up to six new concessions will be allowed for a term of up to 10 years.

Each of the six casino operators in Macau signed an agreement on June 23 to extend each game contract by about six months until December 31. The license was due to expire on June 26, but was extended as Macau authorities tried to prepare for a new public tender. 경마사이트

In a statement on Tuesday, the Executive Committee said Administrative Regulation No. 28/2022 aims to align open bidding rules with the city’s new gaming law provisions.

“Keeping in mind that the current policy guidelines for game development differ significantly from those at the time of the 2001 public offering, this regulation mainly modifies proposals, documents, requirements relating to elements, terms relating to contractual terms that should include concessions,” the advisory said.

It added that it considered plans to expand the source market to “customers from abroad,” the Macau government’s interest in more gaming and non-gaming investments, and the social responsibilities that future concessions should bear.

The statement also said the so-called management company, also known as the promoter of satellite casinos, would no longer be excluded from open bidding regulations. Because these companies will be regulated by certain laws that are currently being discussed in the city council.

Once the new regulations are announced, the city’s Chief Executive may initiate a new open tender and appoint a tender committee to evaluate the offer.

Investment analysts have suggested that open bids could open later this month or early August, and that successful bidders could be selected by November or December. Upon completion of that phase, concession agreements must be signed between the concessionaries and the Macao Government.
