Scientific Games Cooperates With Abacus Solutions

Scientific Games and Avacus Solutions Management Group have announced a new technical collaboration on a retail in-lane computational solution that seamlessly integrates with the retailer’s existing point-of-sale technology and the lottery’s central gaming system. Featuring Avacus Solutions’ secure cloud-based software and Scientific Games’ SCIQ lottery retail ecosystem and dynamic digital menus, the solution allows consumers to purchase lottery games at checkout along with other merchandise and use cashless transactions. The SCIQ ecosystem provides improved product security and real-time store-level sales data while improving operational convenience and accounting for lottery products as well as instant scratch game inventory management in stores. 경마사이트

As retailers add self-calculation and cashless payment options, the new abacus and Scientific Games collaboration creates innovative solutions for all types of lottery and retailers. Scientific Games is demonstrating its new solution at booth #B3803 at the NACS Show 2023 at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta through Oct. 6. With more than 23,000 participants from more than 70 countries, the show explores the latest trends and technologies in the convenience and fuel retail industry, which currently supports nearly 66% of U.S. lottery sales.

The two global tech companies have partnered to develop advanced solutions for both self-checkout counters and clerk-run checkout counters at lottery retailers. Buyers can purchase lottery instant scratches and raffle-based games in the in-lane calculation experience at the retailer. Lottery is one of the largest consumer product categories in the world, with consumers buying $348 billion in lottery products worldwide in fiscal 2022.

“This collaboration with Scientific Games enhances our ability to provide solutions to lottery and retailers around the world designed to provide new ways to buy players’ favorite lottery games, as well as improving sales and revenue,” said Simon Butler, CEO of Avacus. “We believe the future lies in the integration of the system to enable frictionless purchases wherever lottery products are sold. Through this collaboration with Scientific Games, we have secured a full range of products together that can deliver today’s future.”

By integrating lottery sales into both self-checkout counters and clerk-run lanes, the new solution can increase consumer access to lottery products during retail visits and ultimately help lottery sales generate revenue and return to good-purpose programs such as education, health and wellbeing, transportation, and the environment.

“We are excited to expand our innovation with Abacus to further enhance the convenience of selling and purchasing lottery tickets in retail stores,” said Michael Martin, vice president of retail solutions at Scientific Games. “Self-calculation is an innovative change for convenience stores, and the innovative strengths of Abacus and Scientific Games provide a cohesive and seamless approach that meets the player’s journey for the ever-changing lottery market.”
