Wynn Resorts Ltd. announced that it has partnered with PokerStars to operate a U.S.-based online poker website if a federal law that allows internet gambling is passed.
In a statement issued late Thursday by Wynn Resorts, Wynn officials said the companies would work to secure federal internet gaming legislation passage. Wynn operates casinos in Las Vegas and Macau, while Isle of Man-based PokerStars is estimated to control nearly 50% of the online poker market.
If the bill is approved, the companies will seek a game license to jointly operate a regulated U.S.-based poker site under the name PokerStarsWynn.com .

“As a company that’s been playing the game safely in the U.S. for more than 40 years, we believe we can do the same with poker on the Internet,” Win said. “Plus, it’s time for thousands of jobs and potentially significant tax dollars created by this business to return to the U.S.”
