Park MGM, NoMad for Quitting

A non-smoking resort casino will finally open in Las Vegas.

MGM Resorts International announced Monday that Park MGM and NoMad will be non-smoking when they reopen on Sept. 30.

Rumors of such a move have circulated throughout the summer, but confirmation from MGM Resorts came in a news release on Monday morning.

The casino will be the last to be owned by MGM Resorts after the pandemic shuttered all of Las Vegas in mid-March.

“Opening MGM and NoMad is an important milestone as it is our last stay welcoming both our employees and guests,” said Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM Resorts.

“The last six months have shown particular challenges and I couldn’t be prouder of the MGM Resorts team for the tireless effort it takes to get us here,” Hornbuckle said in a release. “We have a lot of work ahead as we continue to focus on the health and safety of our employees and guests, but this is an important moment for us.”

Limited amenities

Facilities at Park MGM will be initially limited. Guests will be able to enjoy many of the resort’s most popular outlets, including Italian marketplace Italy, Barbet’s Steakhouse, Primrose, and a swimming pool.

Park MGM’s hotel in the hotel, No Mad, will also welcome guests from September 30.

“As we looked at the reopening, we discovered an opportunity to respond to the recurring customer demand for fully non-smoking casino resorts at Strip,” said Anton Nikodemus, president of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas portfolio. “With its extensive Las Vegas portfolio, MGM Resorts can offer a variety of options for visitors, within MGM Resorts families, and more.”
