Approved are Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, Tropicana Casino and Resort, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Bali Atlantic City and Caesars Atlantic City.
The state’s Game Department’s decision, which comes more than four days after testing technology involved in online betting and making sure gamblers are within New Jersey, allows the state to join Nevada and Delaware, the only U.S. offering internet gambling. The state has approved six of the seven casinos with internet gambling licenses to offer online gambling immediately across New Jersey.
David Liebuck, the department’s chief, said he did not immediately get an estimate of how many people had accessed during the testing period, but that it exceeded 10,000 quite early during the testing period.
Golden Nuggets Atlantic City had to continue testing its systems before it was cleared for unrestricted play. Liebuck did not specify what the casino system lacked.
“Hopefully they’ll get through in the near future,” said Rebuck.

“Being the best is more important,” said Thomas Winter, a company spokesman.
New Jersey began a five-day online gambling trial period last Thursday. The goal was to test the technology involved in the game and determine if the system was ready for the entire state to log on and play.
During the testing period, many users were trapped by geolocation software that mistakenly determined they were not within the New Jersey border. Rebuck said the geolocation issue is something that casinos and their technology partners have to deal with.
