Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:HET) today announced that the Grand Casino Biloxi Hotel and Spa will reopen on Aug. 17, waiting until it receives all the necessary regulatory approvals.
“The opening of Grand Biloxi is the first step in our exciting master plan in the Mississippi Gulf,” said Anthony Sanfilippo, president of Harrah’s Central Division. “Grand is back to the high-quality casino entertainment experience our customers have been looking forward to. We look forward to contributing to the recovery of the Gulf tourism industry and are excited to have our employees back at work.”
Following a year-long renovation, the new land casino has more than 800 slot machines, 28 table games, a 500-room hotel, a 300-seat grand buffet, an Asian cafe, L.B.’s steakhouse and Starbucks coffee shops, and a full-service Bellissimo spa. 경마
Grand Biloxi has almost completed hiring 1,500 employees. About 95% of the property’s employees previously worked at former grand properties in Biloxi and Gulfport, as well as the harra entertainment mid south service center.
Karen Sock, formerly vice general manager of Grand Gulfport, now serves as senior vice president and general manager of Grand Biloxi. With more than two decades of experience in the gaming and service industries, Sock served as vice president of human resources at Harah’s New Orleans before joining Grand Gulfport in June 2005.
