Bally’s has once again postponed the opening date of a makeshift casino in Chicago. The target date is scheduled for September 2023, according to the company. This comes after a plan to open a temporary casino at the landmark Medina Temple in Chicago’s 600 N. Wabash Ave was approved by the state’s gambling regulator on June 14, 2023. But approvals still need to be a step closer to opening doors in River North and meet the requirements for permits from temporary casinos and state authorities.
Illinois Gaming Commission limits temporary facility operations to two years. Bali may have the option of extending an additional 12 months for casino operators to stay at Medina Temple for up to three years.
