Son Heung-min is the fifth player in EPL history to score a goal-help-earned goal in one game

Tottenham Hotspur had a 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the 14th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) held at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (Korea time). Son also scored an own goal with one goal and one assist while playing full-time.

At Tottenham’s counterattack in the sixth minute of the first half, Son Heung-min crossed the center line and hit the ball with a header after beating Jeremy Doku, before sprinting to the net with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box. Son Heung-min scored his ninth goal in the league.

However, Son scored an own goal at the ninth minute of the first half. On the right side, Julián Alvarez Jr.’s right foot curled ball was deflected off the right thigh and the ball entered Tottenham’s goal.

In the 31st minute of the first half, Phil Foden easily finished in front of the goalkeeper after Julian Alvarez dug into the empty space and caught the through pass that Doku stabbed into the box, and Manchester City succeeded in a 2-1 reversal.

In the 24th minute of the second half, Son Heung-min, who caught the ball blocked by Tottenham’s defense in the midfield, passed it to Giovanni Rossellso next to him, and Rossellso tied it 2-2 with a left-footed mid-range shot. However, in the 36th minute of the second half, after Tottenham Eve Bissouma was taken away while dragging the ball, Manchester City’s Hallan’s low cross was replaced by Jack Grealish, who finished at the door, and Tottenham trailed 2-3 again. 토토사이트

In the 45th minute of the second half, Dejan Kulusevski flew in from the left side of Brennan Johnson’s left-footed cross to equalize the header, leading Tottenham to a dramatic 3-3 draw away to Manchester City.

According to Opta, Son Heung-min scored all of his goals, assists, and own goals on the day, making it the fifth time in history that he has achieved all three of these records in one game.

Son Heung-min was listed as the fifth player in history to score goals, assists and earned goals, following Kevin Davis in 2008, Wayne Rooney in 2012, Gareth Bale in 2012, and Jacob Ramsey in 2022.

According to Opta, Son Heung-min also became the first player in 24 years to score both goals and own goals in the first 10 minutes of the EPL since Gareth Barry scored both goals and own goals in the first 10 minutes of the match between Aston Villa and Charlton in May 1999.

Son Heung-min has set many rare records due to his own goal.
