West Ham approaches recruitment of Seol Young-woo

British media ‘The West Hamway’ reported on the 20th (Korea Standard Time) that “Team Steiton is currently seeing a potential move by Seol Young-woo, a full-back for the South Korean national team.”

Seol changed his position to fullback from his second year of university and turned to fullback completely after joining the professional league. He mainly played as a left back until the 2022 season at Ulsan HD, but has been playing as a right back since the 2023 season. For this reason, Seol is a multi-resource that can play both left and right fullbacks.

Seol’s biggest strengths are basic skills and soccer intelligence, and he is good at absorbing the strengths of the opponent. Based on faithful basic skills such as kicking, passing, and dribbling, good scenes are created in attack situations. Based on very good soccer intelligence, he shows consistent play in any position.

West Ham has approached Seol Young-woo, who has shown good performance as a starting member of Ulsan HD until this season. West Ham’s technical director is monitoring a number of players who can be potential targets for West Ham’s January transfer market at the Asian Cup.

Ex, the team’s insider, first announced the news about Seol Young-woo, and now the West Ham regional map is also reporting the news. Owner David Sullivan designated the Asian market as an area of search for players because of his skills, workmanship, and commercial and profitable prospects.

Ex said, “The two countries we seem to be looking at especially closely are Japan and Korea. There is some interest in two Japanese players: fullback Sugawara and winger Doan.”

He added, “However, the main concern seems to be for Korean fullback Seol Young-woo, who can be recruited cheaply in January.” The Staten will likely make a judgment on whether Seol will truly be able to take the England stage at the Asian Cup.

Earlier, Seol started as a right full-back against Bahrain in the first leg, but moved to a left full-back. Seol also had no problem adjusting to the left full-back in his team Ulsan HD, and the national team’s performance improved a lot. 동행복권파워볼

Seol played full-time in the game, showing a 93% pass success rate, one chance creation, eight offensive area passes, two interceptions, six recoveries, and a 50% long-pass success rate.

The absence of a full-back is the reason West Ham are interested in Seol. Thilo Kehrer, who could play as both center-back and right-back, has left for AS Monaco, and the main right-back, Cho Woo-pal, is in a bad condition. Also, as backup full-back Johnson did not do well in contract renewal negotiations, left-back Cresswell also saw his skills drop significantly. As West Ham does not have enough budget to spend on the winter transfer window, they are planning to recruit Asian players at a low price.
