Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) is estimated to have reached about 645 million MOPs (US$884.4 million) per day in the first 11 days of August, JPMorgan Securities said on Monday, citing its own checks.
“This represents a sequential improvement in driving rates last week to 657 million MOPs per day – reflecting demand over a relatively robust summer break – meaning daily driving rates for June/July of 590 million versus MOP6 billion,” wrote analysts DS Kim, Mufan Shi and Selina Li.
On a monthly basis, analysts estimated “volume GGR is around 110% of pre-COVID levels, while VIPs are in their mid-20s.”
The agency said it was maintaining its August casino GGR forecast for Macau at “MOP 19 billion to MOP 19.5 billion” or “MOP 600 million to 630 million”.
“If current weekly utilization continues into the end of the month, it may prove a little conservative,” the outlook said. 메이저사이트
Macau’s casino GGR for July was just under MOP18.6 billion, up 5.1% month-on-month. Many investment analysts described the July GGR results as “weak” compared to market expectations, as they observed that the daily launch date likely slowed later that month.
